Safety Briefing at the Polk County School District

Yesterday, our Chief Randy Turner and Chief Todd Queen from Rockmart Fire were invited to a Safety Briefing at the Polk School District. Most of the key stakeholders were in attendance to make sure that our First Responders are prepared to work together for the safety of our students and staff in all schools throughout the county.
Thanks to Polk School District Police Chief Michael McGee and School Superintendent Dr. Katie Thomas for hosting this event.
It’s nice to have a passionate Superintendent and School Police Chief who truly care about preventing and deterring anything that could harm our children and school staff. If prevention and deterrence are not possible, the next best thing is a highly trained and highly equipped force ready and willing to respond. These meetings and training sessions together ensure that we’re all on the same page and that we are aware of the available resources that we all bring to the table.
