🎶Do you hear what I hear?🎶 Well, if you live in a Cedartown neighborhood, listen out on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. We might all hear something spectacular.
The Cedartown City Commission has honored the request of local resident Jannah Sorrell to declare Thursday, December 24, 2020, as “Ring the Bell Day” in the City of Cedartown.
Sorrell, the organizer of the event, encourages everyone to step outside their home at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and ring a bell for two minutes. The goal of the event, Sorrell explained, is to spread Christmas spirit and promote unity throughout our City.
The Cedartown City Commission officially issued a proclamation on Monday night during their regular meeting. It states in part: 2020 has been a challenging and unpredictable year that has changed the way we live and interact. Ringing a bell announces the coming or arrival of an event, activity or occasion and the sound of ringing bells is a long standing, cherished tradition and an important part of celebrating Christmas.
City officials, along with Sorrell, encourage all residents to participate.
