Week 4 Region 7AA Power Rankings
Team FYN Sports, TeamFYNSports September 13, 2022Region 7AA didn’t set the world on fire to start the season like some people thought they would.
After week 1, all teams were winless and most 7AA fans were left thinking that this was going to be a loooong season.
A few weeks removed from the season opener, things are starting to come together for most of the Region.
Rockmart showed they are “as advertised” with back-to-back wins over Cass and Dalton. Fannin finally put things together on both sides of the ball with a dominant showing vs Pickens. North Murray has shown they can score with anybody, lighting up the scoreboard for 49+ points in 3/4 games this year.
As we head into week 5, here are the official #TeamFYNSports Power Rankings for Region 7AA.
- Rockmart
Just as we all suspected, Rockmart has already proven that they’re a head above the rest with their performance in non-region play.
2. Fannin County
Fannin stumbled out of the gate with back-to-back losses against rivals Union and Gilmer County, but they showed what they’re capable of in their last game vs Pickens County. Defensively they should be the best team in the Region, but they’ve looked suspect in the 2/3 games they have played this year. It will be interesting to see if they can put all of the pieces together and get that coveted #2 seed in this region.
3. North Murray
The Mountaineers offense can light up the scoreboard. Points are going to be easy to come by it seems for North Murray, but it also seems like points are going to be easy to come by for the Mountaineers opponents. They’ve gotta find a way to sure up that defense if they want a home playoff game.
4. Haralson County
Haralson County may have not have gotten the W last week, but they showed a lot of promise in the loss vs Mary Persons. They should get back on track vs Upson Lee, but they’ve gotta keep an eye on the Model Blue Devils as they vie for this fourth place spot.
5. Model
This is a playoff football team, they just have to have the ball bounce their way once or twice. We will find out just how good Model is this week when they line it up against Trion on Friday.
6. Murray County
The Indians have not been able to find the win column yet this season, but they’re looking better than they have in previous seasons. Coach Napier is getting more out of Murray County than we’ve seen in a while.
7. Gordon Central
The Warriors are driving the struggle bus this year. They’ve already played their most winnable games this year and weren’t able to get the job done, so the Warriors could be in for another long season.
