**Rockmart Secures GHSA AA State Championship with Shutout Victory Over Franklin County**

The Rockmart Varsity Yellow Jackets clinched the 2025 GHSA AA State Championship on Wednesday with a commanding 6-0 win over the Franklin County Varsity Lions in Game 2 of the title series.

Rockmart broke through in the top of the third inning, stringing together key hits to take the lead. Kason Zuker ignited the scoring with an RBI single, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

On the mound, Trey Luke delivered a championship-worthy performance. The right-hander threw a complete-game shutout, scattering six hits while striking out seven and walking only one. His dominance kept Franklin County off the scoreboard and secured the title for Rockmart.

Franklin County starter Cade Gibson took the loss after allowing six runs on six hits over five and one-third innings. He struck out five but struggled with control, issuing seven walks.

Rockmart’s offense was led by Brax McBryde, who collected two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Rob Yagyu also chipped in with two RBIs, and Luke helped his own cause by drawing three walks. In total, the Yellow Jackets tallied nine hits and showed patience at the plate with seven walks.

Defensively, Rockmart turned a double play to help preserve the shutout, while Franklin County played error-free baseball. Easton Gailey and Will Dodd each recorded two hits for the Lions, and Colby Cape led the team with seven defensive chances.

With the victory, Rockmart secured its place atop Class AA baseball, finishing the season as state champions.
