Uniformed Patrol Division Arrested Bruce Privett

Community, Police & Government
On July 24, 2022, at 20:08, our Uniformed Patrol Division received a tip that Bruce Privett (44-year-old male – Rockmart) was observed at his residence on Vinson Mountain Road. Mr. Privett had active arrest warrants for Terroristic Threats (F), Aggravated Assault (F), and Pointing a Pistol at Another (M). Mr. Privett had eluded law enforcement several times in the past when the warrant service was attempted.
Tonight, our officers checked out at the residence, and heard a four-wheeler start. Mr. Privett then fled from our officers on the four-wheeler into the woods. Little did Mr. Privett know, we will go after you, even in the woods.
A short time later, our officers located the four-wheeler in the woods, abandoned. We observed Mr. Privett walking in the woods and ordered him to stop. Mr. Privett fled on foot again, with our officers giving chase.
Mr. Privett was chased, and two of our officers were able to deploy their X2 tasers. This ultimately brought Mr. Privett to the ground, only for him to continue fighting with our officers, until he was ultimately taken into custody.
Mr. Privett was immediately cleared by Redmond EMS on scene. The four-wheeler in which Mr. Privett fled on was seized. Mr. Privett will now face additional charges stemming from this incident.

Rockmart Police Arrest Suspect With Help From the Community

Announcements, Community, Police & Government, Press Release
Rockmart Police arrest suspect
Earlier this week, the city of Rockmart was terrorized by someone breaking into numerous vehicles and businesses. We’re thankful that we had so many amazing citizens who shared their surveillance camera footage with us. Our officers and detectives sorted through the footage and evidence to identify the perpetrator. They were able to identify our suspect as Tajai Quevonte Neal from a 612 Golden Street address.
Earlier today, several officers from RPD surrounded that residence and took Tajai Neal into custody. He attempted to flee through a window, but that effort was unsuccessful. Several items from the thefts were located inside the apartment as well. We will soon be in contact with the victims to return the stolen property that we recovered. He was arrested and charged with several felony charges that will all be listed on the jail site once he is booked in. Thanks again for your cooperation, assistance and patience.
